Modified building design by JV Architects in Kent
This cramped 2-bedroom cottage was redesigned into a spacious 4 bedroom family home in a traditional farmhouse style. The design gives back a focal point to the building: a front entrance constructed of random stone, natural clay brick and oak. The circulation has been greatly improved by the removal of the old stairs at one end of the building, and the central repositioning of a new generous staircase. This new staircase incorporated a double height space gallery landing as well as stairs located by the front entrance.
